Beyond the Brand: Our Q&A with Hannah of Beaumont Organic

Beyond the Brand is a series of slow conversations with incredible people building things that matter. We talk about the quiet parts of the process - the shifts, the pauses, the choices that don’t always make it to Instagram. These are stories of shaping a life and a livelihood with care.

We’re delighted to share our conversation with Hannah, founder of Beaumont Organic, the pioneering fashion brand creating beautifully crafted clothing with a commitment to ethical production, timeless design, and sustainability.

What inspired you to start your brand?

I founded Beaumont Organic in 2008 after a short stint working at Monsoon and internships at the likes of Topshop. To be honest, I was quite disillusioned by the industry, over producing, cheapening styles with synthetics to hit margins and the constant launches of new ranges. I knew that if there was a place for me in the industry it wasn’t there and that I would need to pave my own path. At 23, with very little industry knowledge I launched Beaumont Organic.

How has your brand evolved since its launch?

We started as a purely Business-to-Business brand – I would visit stores in the UK with my collection and independent stores were our main channel. Through the years with agents and distributors globally we now sell in 12 countries and also have our own Direct-to-Consumer business via our website and flagship store in Manchester.

What does slow business mean to you and how do you integrate it into your work?

In my sector slow for me is not over designing or over producing. In business generally it's taking care of everyone along the way. Stopping. listening, respecting, understanding….

Are there any specific tools, rituals, or daily habits that help you stay true to your business values?

I am a huge advocate of morning routines. I allow myself an hour before I start my day to practice yoga, mediation and journal. This sets me up for the day, mind and body…

How do you ensure your business stays aligned with your values?

Lead with clarity and employ people with the same values. Honestly your team are so important and if they are not aligned you have a problem.

How do you connect with your customers in a meaningful way?

Be available and listen to them. I honestly think social media has it’s challenges but one huge positive is that it bring the customer, the brands and CEOs together, and this is very special.

What role does community play in your approach to business?

It’s key. We have really built the brand on community – from the wholesale community to our brand ambassadors – it’s the centre to the business.

How do you define success beyond profit?

Living a life with purpose.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in growing a business at your own pace?

Finance can be restricting – we have always been self-funded as I didn’t want someone dictating our next move.

If you could go back and change one thing about how you started your business, what would it be?

Ask for help. I did a lot myself in the early days – I think if you can surround yourself with a great peer group it will help.

What exciting projects or launches can we expect from your brand soon?

Spring Summer 27 will see our first ever show – we just captured it at my home and it was so beautiful. We have also rebranded and re-launched in the EU – there is lots going on!

Where do you see your brand in five years?

More international stores - we have always had great success internationally and this is really our focus to grow the wholesale distribution internationally.

What’s one small change every business could make to be more mindful and responsible?

Be Kind.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start a conscious business?

Do it because you believe in it – not because you see a commercial opportunity! Be authentic!

Where do you see the future of conscious business heading, and how do you hope to contribute?

I think it’s exciting to see how much employees care and value this nowadays. I would hope I can continue leading by example and inspiring companies and entrepreneurs to go down this route.

What is your connection with Rebrandr?
